Fire on the Mountain Chinese Dogwood is a hardy flowering shrub, grown as much for its glowing winter stems as its flowers. Fire on the Mountain Chinese Dogwood flowers in late spring in shades of red, and performs best in full sun with moderate watering once established. This shrub matures to roughly 5-9 feet tall and 5-9 feet wide. It is ideal for mass planting along a fence line or as a standalone feature in a bed, offering seasonal colour and lasting structure. Well suited to the Canadian climate in zones 2-8, it establishes readily and improves with age. A layer of mulch helps hold moisture and keeps roots cool in summer.
