New York Ironweed is a hardy perennial known for its intense violet flower clusters on tall, wiry stems. New York Ironweed flowers in late summer to fall in shades of purple, and performs best in full sun with moderate watering once established. This perennial matures to roughly 4-6 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. It is ideal for perennial borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator plantings, offering dependable colour that returns every year. Once established it needs little attention, making New York Ironweed a dependable choice for Canadian gardens. A layer of mulch helps hold moisture and keeps roots cool in summer.
