Smokey Saskatoon Berry is a hardy fruit tree known for its white spring flowers, sweet June berries and orange fall colour. Smokey Saskatoon Berry flowers in spring in shades of white, and performs best in full sun with moderate watering once established. This tree matures to roughly 15-25 feet tall and 10-20 feet wide. It is ideal planted with a compatible pollinator variety for the best crop, offering spring blossom and homegrown fruit. Well suited to the Canadian climate in zones 3-8, it establishes readily and improves with age. A layer of mulch helps hold moisture and keeps roots cool in summer.

🪴 Planting Instructions: Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and no deeper, keeping the top of the root ball level with the surrounding soil. Loosen circling roots before planting, backfill with native soil amended with compost, then water thoroughly to settle. Space plants about 10-20 feet apart and keep well watered through the first full season while roots establish. Plant in full sun.
💧 Care & Watering: Water moderate: about 2.5 cm of water per week in the growing season. Mulch to conserve moisture and moderate soil temperature, and feed with a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Prune in late winter while dormant to open the canopy and encourage fruiting wood.
