Yellowroot is a low-growing groundcover, a spreading native groundcover for difficult shaded slopes. Yellowroot flowers in spring to summer in shades of varies, and performs best in part shade with low watering once established. This groundcover matures to roughly 1-2 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide. It is ideal for edging beds, softening pathways, and holding soil on slopes, offering low-maintenance cover and weed suppression. Hardy to zones 3-9 and simple to care for, it settles in quickly and performs year after year. It tolerates dry spells well once its roots are down.
